hotel door locking system This door lock consists of a magnetic card reader that allows access to a hotel room. There is outside and inside door furniture. The design had to allow the card reader to be mounted proud of the door so to eliminate the need to cut a rectangular hole in the door. This criteria was met whilst improving on the ergonomics of the traditional design. Charlwood Design worked collaboratively with the client on both the design and engineering of the mechanism and card reader. We completed extensive Stress Analysis (Mechanica) to confirm that the large die-castings would withstand attempts to force the door lock open. |
